Classes
Four ways to take class
Every class follows the same order, from the barre to the reverence, and every class has a live pianist.
Pre-Ballet
For ages 4 to 5, a first barre, first position and walking, skipping and galloping to the music.
Pre-BalletBallet by level
First to Fifth Position, for ages 6 to 14. Each level is a step in the order a student learns.
Ballet by levelPointe
Begins when the teacher says a student is ready, and not before. Nothing is tied to a birthday.

Starting out
How do I try a class?
Book a placement visit. A new student joins a class with a teacher watching, and the teacher tells you which level fits. Wear a leotard and tights if you have them; socks are fine for the first visit.
Which level is right for my child?
The teacher decides at a placement visit, not by age alone. Ages on the levels are where students usually begin, and a student of any age is welcome to start at the beginning.
Do I stay, and may I watch?
Grown-ups of Pre-Ballet students wait in the front room, which has a window onto the hall. Every session has a watch week when families sit along the wall and watch the class.
Not sure where to start?
A placement visit is a short class with a teacher watching. The teacher tells you which level fits.
